Finally, a new Thief! Legacy of Shadows is a VR stealth game that stays true to the spirit of the series. However, we don’t play as the legendary Garret, but as the new thief Magpie. The old master also makes an appearance, though.
The gameplay forces you to slow down in the classic way: extinguish light sources, observe walking routes, stay in the shadows. Fights are powerful but difficult; if you are discovered, you usually have a bad hand. The VR immersion is the absolute highlight: we pick locks with a delicate hand movement and physically blow out candles. Ingenious: if the microphone is active, even a real cough in the living room will give us away to the virtual guards!

Graphically, the title is functional (Quest port), but acoustically it’s top notch. Despite minor AI glitches, Thief VR delivers exactly what fans have been missing in 8-10 hours: pure tension and the feeling of really being a master thief.
