What is Last Flag? The PvP shooter Last Flag revolves around the famous game modeCapture the Flag
. In teams of five, you must find a hidden flag and bring it back to your own base. Different characters, tactical feints, and traps keep things interesting.
Price and Free Weekend: On Steam, the shooter costs 12 euros, but until April 28, 2026, the introductory price of 9.50 euros applies. You can also try Last Flag for free from April 17 at 7:00 PM until April 20
A Flop on Steam
Although Imagine Dragons released the gameon their Instagram account, it has attracted only a handful of players. The accompanying post on the profile with 10.1 million followersgarnered 56,500 likes within two days. The comments are mostly extremely positive.
However, this is hardly reflected on Steam. Last Flag was released on April 14, 2026, and within the first three dayson Steamonly apeak of 558 concurrent players, which was on release day. At least the 500 mark hasn’t been dipped below on any day since then.
The reviews don’t look too bad, after all, 75 percent are positive. Players praise the lack of microtransactions and the fact that the game adds an exciting new twist to the Capture the Flag mode. Criticisms include the game’s balancing, the lack of leaderboards, and the clunky controls of some characters.
What’s behind it?
An important factor is that music fans don’t necessarily play video games. Especially not if they have to pay for them and can’t easily try them out. If you then subtract the people who don’t play shooters or PC games, the potential player base is immediately much smaller.
On top of that, Last Flag visually resembles competing shooters like Fortnite or Highguard; it lacks uniqueness. Our newsroom director Phil took a closer look at why similar multiplayer shooters are currently in crisis and dying off one after another. You can find the article on this in the link box above.
