As is the case every year on April 1, there were plenty of hilarious hoaxes that sent the gaming world into a tizzy and caught the odd gullible gamer off guard. We have summarized the funniest and most creative April Fool’s jokes of the year for you.
Nintendo VR goggles
A joke that made many people both laugh and wish it was true – the Virtual Boy Pro A VR headset for the Nintendo Switch that combines reality with the gaming world with games such as Mario Kart Open Road or Link’s Korok Catcher
Most Nintendo veterans will probably shiver at the sound of the name Virtual Boy however.
The original Virtual Boy was released in Japan and the USA in 1995 and was a resounding failure for Nintendo. After only a short time, production of the VR headset was discontinued and chalked up as a failure.
