Free over Easter: These games are free on Steam, Epic and Co.

Not only are there lots of Easter eggs for you over the coming holidays, but there are also plenty of games you can play for free.

Easter is just around the corner and countless chocolate bunnies are currently writing their wills. Bad luck for the bunnies, good luck for you, because you can not only fill your bellies in the coming days, but also play a whole range of games for free.

Always up to date: We’ve put together an overview of all the titles that are temporarily free to play and will update it over the Easter holidays as more games are added.

 

Try The Elder Scrolls Online for free

On 6 June 2022, the next addon called High Isle will be released for the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. If you haven’t had a chance to get a taste of the game yet, you can finally tick off this item on your to-do list. For a fortnight you can test the game without limits.

How do you get it
? Simply visit (the promotion page) of The Elder Scrolls Online and choose your desired platform from the list. In addition to the direct download via the website, Steam is also available on the PC.

Testing over a hundred games at Ubisoft+

What do Far Cry 6, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Rainbow Six: Extraction have in common? That’s right, they’re from publisher Ubisoft, but for once we don’t mean that. The correct answer is: You can currently try out these titles and more than a hundred others for free for seven days.

With a trial membership of Ubisoft+, you can choose from a wide range of games and catch up on those you’ve missed so far – or take your time to take a look at potential new purchases.

How do you get it
? Visit the Ubisoft+ promotion page and register or log in with your Ubisoft account. If you cancel during the trial period, your subscription will automatically expire and you will not be charged. If you don’t do anything, however, the membership will be extended for another month at a cost of 14.99 euros each time.

City building for free in Anno 1800

Do you regularly look around your hometown and silently think to yourself: I could do that much better!? Good news: From now on, you can prove it without having to spend a single euro. You can test the basic version of Anno 1800 for a whole week. That means you don’t have to do without the numerous DLCs, such as the recently released Germ of Hope.

But don’t worry, because you’ll still get countless hours of building fun for free. But expect some side effects like sleepless nights and Easter bunnies that melt away completely forgotten on your desk.

How do you get it? Simply visit (the promotion page) of Anno 1800 and log in with your Ubisoft account. You can then start the download and soon begin building cities. If you decide to buy after the promotion period, you will also get a big discount in the (Epic Store). Your game progress will of course be preserved.

Free Games at Epic

Naturally, there are also free games in the Epic Store, as there are every week. For a few hours only, you currently have the opportunity to secure two real insider tips with The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Rogue Heroes.

At 5 pm the new free games start at Epic. Then there is the Roguelike Insurmountable and especially the excellent XCOM 2 for free.

Free Classics and Indies at GOG

Not only over Easter, but even beyond, GOG has a whole range of games that conveniently move into your library at the click of a mouse and at no cost.

What games are available here? You shouldn’t expect any big blockbusters. Rather, the focus is on classics like Shadow Warrior Classic and Flight of the Amazon Queen or indie games like Symphonia and Samorost 1.

Do you have an Amazon Prime membership? Then you can of course add more games to your collection for free in April as usual. This month with a real RPG highlight:
