The Midweek Madness is firing at full speed: Many newer but also older games are waiting to become your property.

Gather round, dear bargain hunters and game lovers, because it’s Wednesday again, and that means: numerous reduced games are waiting to make themselves at home in your ever-growing library. After all, you can never have enough games, and today’s selection is sure to include a title or two you haven’t had on your radar – until now, of course.

Enough rambling, now let’s get down to the nitty gritty. We’ve picked out some particularly exciting offers for you. Have fun browsing!

Highlights of the week

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

(Genre: Action Role-Playing Game – Developer: Eidos Montréal – Release: 23. August 2016 – Platform: GOG – Price: 7 Euro (reduced by 85 percent) – Offer valid until: 18 April 2022)

The latest installment in the popular role-playing game series takes you to picturesque Prague. Well, the city on the Vltava River in 2029 is no longer quite so picturesque, but rather the dystopian Luzi is going on. Terrorist attacks are an omnipresent threat, conspiracies are everywhere and techno sects are unceremoniously killing themselves in the middle of the public.

The protagonist Adam Jensen, already known from the predecessor Deus Ex: Human Revolution, finds himself in this chaos. As is typical for the series, you have the choice of how you want to proceed in the world. Fighting, sneaking, hacking – the freedom of play is once again one of the title’s great strengths.

The role-playing aspect is not neglected either. Apart from the main quest, there are numerous side missions, thanks to whose completion Adam learns new skills or improves already known ones. And of course you will also have many conversations. You can steer the dialogue in certain directions, which decides at many points in the game whether a fight will take place or not.

If it does, the great action part of the game comes into play. The gun battles work much better than in the predecessor and are quite challenging. However, those who want to avoid direct confrontation have other options to reach their goal thanks to the clever game design.

Darkwood

(Genre: Horror – Developer: Acid Wizard Studio – Release: Aug 17, 2017 – Platform: Steam – Price: 4 Euro (reduced by 85 percent) – Offer valid until: Not Known)

Darkwood is a survival horror game, but instead of being controlled from a first- or third-person perspective, it illuminates the creepy goings-on from above. During the day you have time to explore the open world at your leisure. When it gets dark, however, you should seek shelter as quickly as possible and hope that you survive the night.

What is your goal? Darkwood will let you figure that out for yourself. There are no quest markers or other helpers to assist you. You are left to discover for yourself how to navigate this unforgiving world.

The game world is randomly generated on each playthrough, so even after the first playthrough you can’t be sure you’re immediately in control. You’ll collect materials, unlock new abilities and even have to decide the fate of the characters you meet on your journey.

Anno 1800 – Base Game

(Genre: Building Strategy – Developer: Ubisoft Mainz – Release: 16. April 2019 – Platform: Epic – Price: 24 Euro (reduced by 60 percent) – Offer valid until: 19 April 2022)

We don’t need to explain to anyone here what Anno 1800 is, what the building giant is about and why no one with a soft spot for huge cities (and sleepless nights) should miss out on this game.

However, if you have been one of the few undecided ones who have hesitated to buy the building game, you currently have another chance to get the basic game for a small price.

After all, there is a lot to do: On 12 April 2022, the first DLC of the extensive Season 4 was released with Germ of Hope.

The first DLC of the Anno 1800 Season 4 Pass is here!
