This week, there are two free games on the Epic Games Store that you’ve probably never heard of: *Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure* and bonus content for the MMO *Firestone Online Idle RPG*.
As it does every Thursday, Epic is giving you a new free game. This time, it’s a double feature: a fantasy factory-building game and an MMO that plays itself. Neither is a major hit, but since they’re free, you might as well check them out.
As usual, both offers are valid for exactly one week, untilMay 7, 2026, at 5 p.m. . We’ll remind you again via an update before the promotion expires.
Free Game 1: Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure
- Genre: Real-time strategy / Factory building
- Developer: Massive Miniteam
- Release: April 2024
Building factories is a tried-and-true game concept; Factorio and similar titles have captivated millions of fans. Most of these games are set in a modern or sci-fi setting. Not so in Oddsparks, though, as it features classic fantasy—just with automated production chains.
The worlds are procedurally generated, and you start by exploring them in search of raw materials. You use these to build workshops, powered by so-called Sparks, which then become increasingly complex and can handle more and more technologies. This is how your little village gradually grows.
On Steam, the game has an 82% positive user review rating. However, the latest reviews complain that the promised optional multiplayer mode doesn’t work properly and that the developers apparently aren’t working on the game anymore. So, just to be safe, prepare yourself for solo play.

Free Game Number 2: Firestone Online Idle RPG
- Genre: MMO / Casual Game
- Developer: Holyday Studios
- Release: April 2023
If MMOs are too stressful for you, Firestone Online aims to offer an alternative. The online game is a so-called idle game that continues to run on its own, even when you’re not actively playing. A constant stream of new unlockable items is designed to grab your attention.
The base game is permanently Free2Play; currently, there’s a major content pack featuring character skins, avatars, and cosmetic items. Of course, the game is designed to eventually get you to spend real money—otherwise, progress is pretty slow.
On Steam, 77 percent of user reviews are positive.
Right now, Epic is putting mostly unspectacular offers on the free shelf. The big hits usually come at the end of the year with the Advent calendar, or occasionally in between.
What are you playing this first long weekend in May? One of the new Epic games, or something from your library on Steam or GOG? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
