The shooter TTK is being developed on Roblox by just two brothers who weren’t even ready for this much attention.
When you think ofRoblox, realistic tactical shooters with appealing graphics probably aren’t the first thing that comes to mind—or even the second or third. But that’s exactly whatTTK is—a game most comparable to Ready or Not that’s been played millions of times on Roblox.
The two brothers, who go by the namesPoptartNoahh and CanyonJack, are completely surprised by the rush of interest.
A realistic tactical shooter on Roblox?
In its current version, TTKis a deathmatch shooterwith slightly toned-down weapon loadouts in the style of Call of Duty. Instead of the typical Roblox blocky look, however, the game’s graphics resemble its namesake, Ready or Not, as cited by the two brothers.
The well-known FPS YouTuber jackfrags has also checked out TTK and is thrilled with the two developers’ project. Here’s a look at some of his gameplay:
With relatively slow movement, a minimalist UI, and players dying after just a few hits, TTK fits well into the tactical shooter genre—and judging by the numbers, it’s a huge hit.
According to the TTK page atofficial Roblox website, where you can also play the shooter, the game has been accessed over8.4 million timeson Roblox. Important: These are not individual players, but visits to the project.
Developers Didn’t Expect the Hype
TTK has been on Roblox since April, but the game’s surge in popularity only began in the past few weeks. In the comments under jackfrags’ video, PoptartNoahh explains:
To be honest, it was kind of embarrassing (in a funny way) that the algorithm discovered us so early on, but people still seem to be having fun with it. We’re well aware of everything anyone might criticize, and we’re addressing it as quickly as possible. As long as people are having fun!
The two brothers still have big plans for TTK; however, they emphasize that they’re continuing to develop the shooter in their spare time.
In the future, they plan to add a survival mode, co-op missions, PvP multiplayer, and a Ground War mode featuring larger, objective-based PvP battles. Additionally, there will be more weapons and attachments. Unlike other Roblox projects, TTK currently doesn’t have an overly prominent online store; instead, there’s only the option to purchase a Supporter Pack for the equivalent of six euros.
