George Broussard once helped launch Duke Nukem, now the industry veteran is back – with a text adventure game!

Does the name George Broussard mean anything to you? If so, you have officially joined the club of advanced-age gamers. Congratulations! If not, it doesn’t matter, because we’ll bring you up to date: George Broussard is a veteran of the cult developer 3D Realms, who helped launch the Duke Nukem shooter series.

After his departure, Broussard went quiet. Until now: Because with his new sci-fi game The Third Wish, he says he wants to change your life. Oho, let’s take a closer look!

Only 43 MB for a life-changing experience?

The Third Wish is a classic point&click adventure game along the lines of the 90s. You control Mr. White, a wetland farmer on the planet Altair 4, who together with his family makes an astonishing discovery on the edge of the inhabited galaxy.

The game clearly focuses on the plot and even has an English voice-over. The rest is familiar genre fare: You run through the game world, have conversations and solve puzzles. Whether The Third Wish is really life-changing in the end? You’ll have to judge for yourselves.

Trying it out costs you nothing and that in two respects: The Third Wish is not only free, but with 43 MB it can be downloaded quickly even with weak internet connections.

Developed in a very short time

The simple appearance of The Third Wish may also be due to the fact that it saw the light of day in a very short time. The game was developed in just 14 days as part of the developer event Adventure Jam 2023.

This is in stark contrast to big productions that often simply don’t want to be finished even after many years.

Now we are excited to the max: Have you already played The Third Wish and is your life now no longer as it was before? Or are we just dealing with a nice, free gem in the end? Would you like to see more classic adventure games like this? Feel free to write us your opinion in the comments!
