The PC requirements for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach have been finalized. In addition to Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS, a fourth upscaling option is included.

The original announcement came quite suddenly: about two weeks ago, porting specialist Nixxes announced that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach would no longer be a PlayStation exclusive and would be coming to PC.

Starting March 19, 2026, you can once again slip into the role of Sam Porter Bridges. After the original announcement revealed initial details about the PC technology, Nixxes has now also unveiled the official system requirements.

From GTX 1660 to RTX 4080

As is now customary with such PlayStation ports, Nixxes has broken down the requirements for Death Stranding 2 into several categories. In the list below, you will find the required processor and graphics card – all other requirements are identical.

Death Stranding 2 – PC system requirements
“Minimum” – 1080p @ 30 FPS (graphics quality “Low”)
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-10100 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 1660 / AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT
“Medium” – 1080p @ 60 FPS (graphics quality “Medium”)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-11400 / AMD Ryzen 5 5600
  • GPU: Nvidia RTX 3060 12 GB / AMD Radeon RX 6600
“High (Recommended)” – 1440@ 60 FPS (graphics quality “High”)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-11700 / AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
  • GPU: Nvidia RTX 3070 / AMD Radeon RX 6800
“Ultra” – 2160p @ 60 FPS (graphics quality “Very High”)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-11700 / AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
  • GPU: Nvidia RTX 4080 / AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT

In terms of memory, 16 GB of RAM is sufficient in any case; Death Stranding 2 estimates a total capacity of 150 GB. Your hard drive must also be an SSD – which, in the wake of the storage crisis, has undergone a similar price explosion with no end in sight.

Death Stranding 2: An (almost) new upscaling solution

On the official

  • This is an upscaling solution from the developer studio Guerilla Games within the Decima engine used.
  • The upscaling process, short for “Progressive Image Compositor,” is thus available in a PC game for the first time.
  • PICO was presumably not only used in the PS5 version of Death Stranding 2, but also in the PS5 Pro update of Horizon: Forbidden West, which was praised by the tech experts at Digital Foundry once described it as ”the most beautiful game on the new console.”
  • However, that was before the advent of DLSS 4.5, which has performed more than impressively in recent tests.

Finally, Nixxes mentions the options for PC gamers with ultrawide monitors. Both 32:9 and 21:9 formats are supported. The latter aspect ratio will also be enabled for the PS5 via an update on March 19, 2026, coinciding with the PC release.
