The standalone version of the survival hit DayZ has been available for almost nine years now and now gathers even more players on its servers than at the time of its full release at the end of 2018. In addition to an engine change and numerous bug fixes, the latest update 1.17 is also responsible for the increasing popularity.

With this update, more items were added than in a long time. The trailer focuses on the brand new spear, which you can also throw. Since the elimination of the bow, it is the first truly silent ranged weapon, which should be especially suitable for hunting.

In addition, the trailer shows the revised CR-550 Savanna rifle, the two new pistols Longhorn and P1 as well as the improvised gas mask filter, which you can now create. In the Schleich passage shown, one of the two new knives will presumably be used: a slaughter knife and a homemade bone knife.

Speaking of self-made: You can also make the campfire cooker and the torch yourself. In addition, the update brings a flesich hammer and an egg timer as well as various revisions to the two maps Chernarus and Livonia. On the latter, the castle of the ominous “Yellow King” is accessible. The patch was released on 19 April 2022.
