The classic strategy game features updated technology, all expansions, and a 30 percent discount for owners of the original.
Relic Entertainment has narrowed down the release window for the Definitive Edition of Company of Heroes.
According to the announcement, the strategy game is set to be released for PC via Steam in early 2027.
To mark the game’s 20th anniversary, the studio has also released a Legacy trailer. It showcases “iconic moments” from the original while highlighting the improvements in the Definitive Edition.
Discount, graphical upgrade, and add-ons: Here’s what’s included in the re-release
This re-release will cost 28.99 euros. If you already own the original on Steam, you’ll receive a 30 percent discount.
In addition to the base game, the two expansions—Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor—are included; all titles have been optimized for modern 64-bit platforms.
You can also look forward to revamped graphics. The developers have overhauled lighting, shadows, water effects, and reflections; plus, all units and environments shine in new splendor thanks to sharper textures. The technical upgrade is rounded out by optimized rendering features and a significantly higher field of view.
Smart AI, modern UI, and 50 maps: Gameplay Innovations
You can also look forward to gameplay innovations: The developers have improved the AI and modernized the user interface. Full Grid Key support and various quality-of-life adjustments will make your daily life as a commander easier in the future. If you have a widescreen or ultrawide monitor, there’s also an optimization for that.
In total, the package includes four factions, three full campaigns, and three standalone single-player stories. These are joined by over 50 skirmish and multiplayer maps.
