Developer Game Freak responds to fan criticism and releases Patch 1.0.7 with camera options and balance fixes.
Last week, we already reported thatBeast of Reincarnationwasn’t particularly well-received. There wasa lack of enthusiasm, and the reason was quite obvious. Optimization was lacking in many areas, and players seemed dissatisfied with performance and missing features. A few days after the August 4 release, Game Freak announced that patches would soon be released to address player feedback. The first promised update is now live.
The promised patch for Beast of Reincarnation is here
Version 1.0.7 of Beast of Reincarnation is live and resolves the initial issues with the game from the creators of Pokémon.
There’s a post on Steam explaining the changes included in the patch. Game Freak writes: “Hello, Beast of Reincarnation players! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with the game and providing feedback during launch week.” The team is already planning further patches.
What’s changing now? The developers are tweaking the player camera, font size, and story. So not the story’s content, but its pacing. “Conversations designed to deepen the bond, which previously could occur multiple times in a row, are now limited to once per day,” the announcement states.
Game Freak also plans adjustments to the cutscenes. Currently, the default setting for these scenes has already been switched from Cinema Mode to Performance Mode.
There are several bug fixes and balance adjustments, and you can now also change the button mapping for “Interact” in the settings.
A few issues probably won’t be resolved with a future update either. In hisreview, Ahmet mentions repetitive enemies and a rather “dull” story. On the other hand, the art style, the battle system, and the protagonist Emma’s great freedom of movement are impressive. Let’s see how much the patches can still improve things. Currently, the title is rated “Balanced” on Steam, so there’s room for improvement.
