  • Launch Edition for 50 Euro (exclusively at Amazon)
  • Deluxe Edition for 60 Euro with deluxe content and digital collectibles

Gameplay: How does Mirage play?

With Mirage, Ubisoft wants to return to the roots of the Assassin’s Creed series  – at least that’s what the developers promise. Here are the most important details at a glance:

  • Greater focus on Stealth and Parkour
  • Focus on main story, less side-quests and collectibles.
  • throwing knives, smoke bombs, noisemakers and slow motion kills.
  • The eagle eye view that lets you see enemies and mission objectives through walls
  • Assassin focus allows Basim to move “faster than the animus”.
  • Upgrade your equipment and colour your outfits
  • Using a Skill Tree special attacks can be unlocked.
  • Baghdad as a living city, divided into four districts and a skill tree to unlock special attacks.
  • Social Stealth as a feature – e.g. Basim can duck into crowds of people
  • Search system determines in three levels how strongly Basim is searched for.
  • Activities such as training sessions and assassin contracts provide variety.
  • There will be no gameplay parts in the present

Scope: How big will Mirage be?

  • Smaller Map: In direct comparison to the previous games in the series, the map in Mirage is to be much more compact and clear. Baghdad remains the only city we explore in the role of Basim – even DLCs are not supposed to deliver additional metropolises afterwards.
  • Shorter playtime: At 20 to 30 hours the playtime also turns out to be significantly shorter than in the direct predecessors.
  • No service game: Mirage dispenses entirely with classic service and also DLCs are not currently planned.

(Only one city, but more lively and immersive: Ubisoft wants to focus on the essentials in Assassin's Creed Mirage.)

Mirage keeps the open world, but wants to be much more of a linear action-adventure than a role-playing game. In return, Ubisoft wants to make Baghdad itself all the more lively, immersive and detailed.

What do you think of Assassin’s Creed Mirage so far? Are you happy that the latest part of the series is to return to its roots, or would you have been more pleased with an Assassin role-playing game? And what are your hopes for the setting, story and gameplay of Mirage? Feel free to tell us what you think in the comments!
