With the release of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon just around the corner, here’s what you need to know about preloading and downloading

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon represents a departure into new territory for From Software and a return to their roots. The makers of the mega-hit Elden Ring revive an old series from their house. The sci-fi action game, meanwhile, is not an attempt to transplant a Souls game into the imaginary future, it is something of its own.

What is Armored Core 6?

You fight your way through different areas in sometimes breathtakingly fast and effect-laden battles and let your opponents feel the full arsenal of your diverse weapons splattering on their armour. This has nothing to do with the sometimes ponderous colossal duels of a mechwarrior, but is rather the epitome of locusts bursting with armour and ammunition, hissing and buzzing around each other.

Landscape and buildings are both cover and platform for devastating attacks. The battlefields are varied, but they have one thing in common – whether urban or non-populated: they are hostile to humans and have degenerated into a backdrop for prancing martyrdoms of war, during which you pursue the steel opponents on land and in the air – or they choose you as their prey.

This is accompanied by a rather sparsely staged plot that provides the backdrop for your wreckage-leaving journey. Here, the action is undoubtedly in the foreground, don’t expect a prize-laden plot or the depth of the game world of an Elden Ring. Nevertheless: Environment as well as story know how to entertain narratively, the presentation, meanwhile, shows itself to be dull. Oh yeah: And it’s buck hard, there From Software remains true to itself.

If you want to know more about the new game from the makers of Elden Ring and how they plan to breathe new life into one of their longest-running series, you can read more here.
