The Festival Playlist of Forza Horizon 5 tempts you with lucrative rewards. We list all the current Series 1 challenges and what you get for them.

An open world racer with battle royale has a season, of course! If you’ve already completed the adventures of Forza Horizon 5 and won the gold medal in every race, there are more challenges – and lucrative rewards – waiting for you.

If you take part in the Festival Playlist, you can earn exclusive or at least very rare cars, wheelspins, in-game money, Forzathon points and more. But how do series and season differ? What do you get at which event and how long is which Challenge available?

To help you keep track, here’s a handy overview of the first series of Forza Horizon 5, including the two remaining seasons, Winter and Spring, as well as tips on how to get the most out of the weekly and daily tasks.

Forza Horizon 5: How the Festival Playlist Works

What is the Festival Playlist anyway?

Monthly challenges rotate through here, similar to a Battle Pass, which players complete for rewards – divided into so-called Series, each comprising the seasons of summer, spring, autumn and winter, each lasting one week, before the next one starts. Series 1 is currently running in the game.

How do I access it in the game?

To activate the Festival Playlist, you must first complete an expedition to progress your Horizon adventure. You will then find it under its own menu item in the Campaign section. There you will also see the challenges, rewards and your personal progress.

What tasks and prizes await me?

There's a lot more to Forza Horizon 5 than just racing. For this season, you'll have to complete a variety of challenges.
There’s a lot more to Forza Horizon 5 than just racing. For this season, you’ll have to complete a variety of challenges.

Rewards include season points, rare cars, exclusive vehicles, money, emotes, Forza Link shouts, horns and avatar clothing. You earn them by completing the following tasks to collect points or by directly collecting the respective rewards:

  • Forzathon Events: Daily and weekly challenges that reward you with points to spend in the Forzathon Shop.
    • Challenges: These challenges come with very specific requirements – for example, finding a treasure, reaching a location or maintaining a speed. You earn points and rewards here. Activities include Treasure Hunts, Photo Challenges, The Eliminator and more.
    • Weekly Challenges: Earn Series and Shop points when you own a specific car and use it to complete tasks across four levels.
    • Daily Challenges: These challenges change on a daily basis. You earn one point each for the current season, including bonus, if you complete all seven.
    • Season Events: Events that either have specific requirements for you, such as using a specific vehicle, or just require you to participate. You earn points and prizes. These include Horizon Arcade, The Trial, the EventLab, PR Stunts and more.
    • Monthly Events: You have the entire Series to complete these tasks. In Monthly Rivals, for example, you must achieve a clean lap time in a selected event with a car that is on offer.

How long is the current series?

The first series is called Welcome to Mexico and runs from 11 November to 9 December. During this time, a new season starts once a week, switching every Thursday at 15:30. We started with summer from 11 to 18 November, followed by autumn, which ran from 18 to 25 November. Now we are not only directly in winter when looking outside, but also in the game. At least in name, Mexico looks fantastic, but you’ll have to do without seasons like in this country:

The current season runs from 25 November to 2 December and then moves into spring until the Christmas event starts on 9 December with the snowman as a collectible, the world event ice skating stadium and matching holiday decorations in the Open World. In Series 2, it’s back to summer again.

You can only complete the respective challenges within the Season, because they will be exchanged afterwards. This means that you also have to earn the prizes within this time frame. Here is a list of the two remaining seasons, including their requirements and rewards:

Series 1: All Challenges and Rewards of the Winter Season (25 November to 2 December)

Series 1: All Challenges and Rewards of the Spring Season (2 to 9 December)

Our tips: How to master the festival playlist the fastest

If you want to get through the festival list quickly, here are a few tricks to keep on your radar

  • Tune your cars: If you need to perform certain stunts with certain cars, remember to tune them. You can easily tune up a C-Class car to A-level, as long as there is no clear restriction by the Challenge. Select “Tuning” in the options menu and then browse through automatic tunings to quickly increase your performance capabilities.
    • Little things make a mess: Start with the easy challenges. The photo challenge can be completed in five minutes, then rattle off the regular races
    • Only one car is exclusive: Every week there is an exclusive car to earn, but it is also the first car you can unlock. So you don’t necessarily have to grind the entire 40+ points every week, because the second car can also be pulled from wheelspins
    • Don’t be afraid of Unbeatable: Each week you are to conquer a co-op race on the highest difficulty level. This sounds much harder than it is, because in co-op your team’s performance is added up. We had to work hard to lose such a race.
    • Save the series until last: Every week there’s an event series in which you have to complete certain quests with a car one after the other, for example driving stunts with the buggy. This challenge usually costs the most time and only pays out event points once you have cracked the highest level. Start with the low-hanging fruit instead.
    • Watch out for Alt+F4: If you’re unlucky, challenges won’t be saved when closing Horizon 5 rabidly. This also applies to the Xbox Series X. Be sure to close the game in the correct way.

Are you already working diligently on the challenges and do you have your own tips? Or do you prefer to drive through the open world with the soundtrack in your ears? Write it down in the comments!
