In a week and a half, Rebirth, the second part of the Final Fantasy VII trilogy, will be released. In an interview, the producer and director have now revealed the status of the third part.

French YouTuber Julien Chièze had two special guests in his video last week: Final Fantasy producer Yoshinori Kitase and Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi. Together, they not only talked about the long and successful history of Final Fantasy VII, they also took a look into the future

The final part of the trilogy is currently in the same state as Rebirth at the end of Remake. Work on the script is progressing well and certain developments have already been considered.

Since there are four years between Remake and Rebirth , the conclusion of the trilogy could therefore be released in the year 2028  Sony’s information on the next console generation even suggests that we could play the title on the PlayStation 6. However, only time will tell whether this assumption proves to be true. However, the idea of three Final Fantasy VII titles on three generations of consoles sounds tempting.

But before we get too carried away with speculation, let’s look forward to February 29th That’s when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will finally be released for the PlayStation 5. If you want to take your first steps into the title, you can download the demo. But watch out, as Kotaku reports, there are already spoilers about Rebirth on social media. You can find even more insights into the game in the following overview:
