In FIFA 22 Ultimate Team the players prepare for the TOTS. Free packs can be earned with the hope of getting good cards.
EA Sports prepares the players for the Team of the Season (TOTS) in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team. Even before the start of the ingame highlight, plenty of packs can be hoarded in order to use them for the TOTS event.
It is quite possible that in the coming days new short-term actions will appear in the Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) and Objectives. Accordingly, it may be worthwhile to check back daily and complete simple challenges.
Free packs thanks to Icon Swaps 3
The start of Icon Swaps 3 this week has created excellent opportunities to exchange free earnable tokens for high value packs. So if you don’t want a guaranteed Icon card from Roberto Carlos and co, you would be well advised to get the packs and use them for Team of the Season.
There are four options in the first part of the current Icon Swaps for Packs.
- 1 token: 25x pack (25 rare gold players, GES 82+)
- 2 Token: 25xPack (25 rare gold players, GES 83+)
- 3 Token: 25xPack (25 rare Gold Players, GES 84+)
- 5 Token: 20xPack (20 rare gold players, GES 85+)
You can already earn the first nine tokens via objective tasks during Icon Swaps 3. So, for example, a combination of the 20xPack with 85+ players (5 tokens) and the first two packs would be possible.
The first phase of Icon Swaps 3 will last until 23 May. Only then can the other nine tokens be earned.

Double TOTS Warmup Challenge
The TOTS Warmup Series lives up to its name. Not one but two SBCs titled “TOTS Warmup Challenge” bring good packs to save for the upcoming in-game event. At the same time, one is significantly cheaper than the other. In total, however, we are talking about less than 20,000 coins in value to put in.
For the first and cheaper TOTS Warmup Challenge, you will receive a Prime Electrum Player Pack, which is worth 20,000 coins and is guaranteed to contain six rare gold players. All you have to do is trade in a team worth just under 5,000 coins for it. With surplus cards, which can’t be traded anyway, this task is quickly done.
For the second, a team worth 10,000 coins must be traded in, which has a 95 team chemistry or better. As a reward, you get the Jumbo Premium Gold Player Pack, which would cost 50,000 coins in the shop. There are 24 gold items in there, including at least six up to twelve players and seven rare items. Considering the upcoming TOTS maps, this is a sensible option.
The two SBCs will be available until Friday evening.

85+ x5 EFIGS Upgrade
The “85+ x5 EFIGS Upgrade” is also to be completed by Friday evening. This is more costly than TOTS Warmup Challenge in terms of value, but provides five players from the major leagues with an overall strength of 85 or better. For a cost of the equivalent of 60,000 coins, the pack is yours.
Daily Login Upgrade
As the name suggests, a daily login rewards you. For a team worth around 8,000 coins, you’ll currently receive a pack of two rare players with an 81 overall rating or higher. Every 24 hours, a new upgrade SBC.

Top games SBC
The traditional top games SBC often makes sense. But for the TOTS event in particular, it’s worth taking a look at the pack rewards. Until Thursday night, you’ll receive 115,000 coins worth of packs.
The main reward alone, the Prime Gold Player Pack, would cost 45,000 coins in the shop. This contains twelve gold players and six of them are rare. For the four teams to be given away, you will need to factor in players worth around 40,000 coins.
Objectives
Directly before the start of the TOTS event on 29 April, the objectives are still limited. However, diligent players will be rewarded for tasks in the milestones.
The milestones “Silver Squad” and “Bronze Squad” are recommended. Active play is a basic requirement for both tasks. Because there are a lot of requirements. After all, these are easy to master such as “Win 6 matches with a complete silver team in any game mode”. Thus, the tasks are kept simple.
As the main reward for the completed milestones, you will each receive a Rare Player Pack, which would cost 50,000 coins in the shop. It contains twelve rare gold players and is therefore also ideal for the TOTS event. Along the way, you’ll also pick up other useful content such as Premium Gold Player Packs.
