Once again, ESL returns to Malaysia with its in-house tournament series “ESL One”. In the luggage: a prize money in the amount of one million US dollars. The venue is the Malaysian capital

After a break of more than five years, ESL One returns to Kuala Lumpur with a major tournament. Back in 2018, some of the world’s best Dota teams found themselves in the Malaysian capital to compete with or against each other for a prize purse of one million US dollars as well as the Major title.

This will be the case again at the end of 2023, as this year’s edition of ESL One has once again been elevated to the rank of Major.

Five years ago, Russian-born eSports organization Virtus.pro crowned itself champion when the team defeated rival Team Secret 3-2 in the grand final. Whether the team will manage to win the trophy again this year remains to be seen. Most recently, the organization successfully qualified for the upcoming World Championship, The International, in Seattle, USA.

To date, it has not been determined which teams will participate in the tournament.

Last event 2023

The first matches are already scheduled for December 11, 2023, culminating in the grand finale, which will take place in front of a live audience in Kuala Lumpur. The venue chosen is the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre , which may be able to accommodate up to 28,000 people. However, it remains to be seen to what extent this capacity will be used in the course of ESL One.
