The choice of weapons in CS:GO is immense. Here’s how to find out which gun suits you best in which situation.

First of all, every CS:GO player should get an overview of the current situation and the round. Factors such as your own money, which side you play on or your own skill with the weapon are essential here.

So if you are just short of AWP, it might be the best moment to choose a cheaper weapon. On the CT side, the M4A1-S, M4A4 or the AUG are good choices in this case. The T side gives access to the AK-47 and the SG 553. Armour should always be prioritised over the more expensive weapon in this case. Unless the situation demands it.

Practice makes perfect

Solid gun handling can make the difference between winning and losing for any team. How the shooting iron works, how much damage it does or how to use it well on the different maps. All of this is important information that can bring you and your team much closer to victory.

Learning how to control the spray of your weapons can be an effective first step here. There are many different ways to do this in CS:GO: Community-created maps or the in-game practice areas are two good examples.

Find your way

Take a look at the best players in the world and how they wield each weapon. Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev or Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut have been among them for some time and offer good opportunities to improve. Watching other players will give you new ideas that you can develop into your own style of play over time.

It won’t take long for you to find your own personal way of mastering individual situations and playing the cards. In addition, over time you will learn to play all the weapons and build up muscle memory. This will give you considerable advantages in the future.
