Could AI soon be on our side in the DMZ? A leak reveals the possible introduction of a reputation system in the DMZ.

The Season 2 Reloaded update has brought many new features to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, and a lot has changed for fans of the DMZ since March 15 as well. However, according to an unconfirmed leak, the most exciting new feature could still be in store for us.

Once the reputation is ruined…

The rather unknown CoD leaker “Task Force Leakers 141” has published interesting new information on Twitter regarding a possible change in the DMZ. According to his statements, it should be possible in the future to build up reputation with the individual factions through special contracts (“Barter Contracts”).

If we have generated enough reputation with one of the four factions, their AI soldiers will be friendly to us and will no longer attack us.

This reputation and trust system should also enable us to buy special rewards at buy stations, which differ depending on the faction.

It can be assumed that if we gain reputation points with one faction, our reputation with the remaining three will drop. Otherwise, with enough playtime, we might eventually run across the map and only encounter friendly bots.

A YouTube video released a little later which was supposed to show voice lines of the AI soldiers for Season 3 was summarily blocked due to complaints. The quick blocking of the video suggests that the leak hit the mark and is accurate.

Long-term motivation

If the leak turns out to be true, it could revive the long-term motivation that many players have lost in DMZ mode.

At the moment there is little incentive to play the mode permanently. Especially after the Season 2 Reloaded update made it immensely easier to access Building 21 now even with just one access card per squad.

At least one player in a squad must have a Building 21 access card in their inventory to allow infiltration. – (PATCH NOTES)

In the long run, it would also be conceivable to have missions in which we can work together with bots or even recruit them to raid bases of other factions.

We can expect a possible introduction of the new game mechanics in Season 3 or Season 3 Reloaded at the earliest, which is expected to start on April 12.
