CoD Modern Warfare 2 Guide: How to unlock all operators

You can unlock a whole range of operators again this year. We tell you all the requirements and how you can best master them

In Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 there are many operators that are divided into two different teams. Which team you join at the beginning of a round is chosen randomly. This is exactly why it is even better to unlock your favourites on both sides. We”ll show you what you need to do to unlock all the Operators and give you helpful tips on some of the tasks:

You don”t need to unlock the MilSim operator from Specgru, it”s available from the beginning:

You can unlock these operators in PvP

• Gus: Achieve five supports in a multiplayer match.
  • Our tip: If you damage an opponent and they are then finished off by a teammate, this counts as an assist. 
• Kleo: Score a kill with a lethal piece of equipment.
  • Our tip: Throw a Semtex Grenade at the spot in Domination or Position mode.
• Zimo: Score a kill with your secondary weapon.

You can unlock these operators in PvE

• Nova: Complete the campaign mission “Violence and Timing”.
• Reyes: Complete the campaign mission “Prison Break”.
• Chuy: Complete the campaign mission “Cartel Protection”.
• Gromsko: Complete the co-op mission “Unobtrusive”.
• Luna: Complete the co-op mission “Defender: Mount Zaya”.

These operators can only be purchased

These four operators are only available to buyers of the expensive Vault Edition of CoD MW2 for 109.99€. If you have bought the basic edition, you can upgrade your version on Steam and in the BattleNet shop for 30€

• Farah: Unlocked after purchasing the Vault Edition 
• Ghost: Unlocked after purchasing the Vault edition 
• Price: Unlocked after purchasing the Vault edition 
• Soap: Unlocked after purchasing the Vault Edition

All KORTAC Operator

You don”t need to unlock the Kortac MilSim operator, it”s available from the start:

These are the operators you can unlock in PvP

• Aksel: Reach 20 kills in a multiplayer match.
• Calisto: Achieve five headshots in a multiplayer match.
  • Our tip: Mount attachments that provide less recoil but more accuracy.
• Conor: Achieve five hipfire kills in a multiplayer match.
  • Our tip: Mount any attachment that increases hipfire precision and play on small maps like Shoothouse.
• Fender: Achieve two rocket launcher kills in a multiplayer match.

• Horangi: Achieve five Kingslayer kills in a multiplayer match.
  • Our tip: To do this, you must kill the player of the opposing team in first place on the scoreboard five times. 
• King: Perform a finisher.
  • Our tip: For a finisher, you must be behind an enemy and hold down the melee button. This is set to V or Mouse Button 4 by default. Either you play a small map and run around the map continuously or you play invasion and get behind enemy lines to sneak into a house. Because there are plenty of snipers in this game mode.
  • Roze: Achieve a point blank kill.
    • Our tip: For this task you have to kill an enemy within 5 metres. If you haven”t completed this by accident, just equip yourself with a shotgun and play the new Shoothouse map.
  • Stiletto: Achieve two revenge kills in a multiplayer match.
    • Our tip: For revenge kills, you must finish off the enemy who shot you last.

  • Zero: Complete the co-op mission “Restricted Area”.
  • Hutch: Complete the campaign mission “Countdown”.

  • Oni: Exclusive pre-order bonus for PlayStation users

  All Season 1 Operators

  In Season 1 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, there are only Operators that can be purchased with real money:

  • Zeus (SPECGRU): Available after purchasing the Battle Pass at level 1. It costs 1000 CoD points, which is the equivalent of about 10€.
  • CDL Woman Home/Away (Both Teams): The CDL Starter Pack is available in the shop for 9,99€ and contains a weapon skin, emblems, business cards and stickers besides the four operators.
  • CDL Man Home/Out (Both Teams): See above.

  Other announced operators for Season 1

  During the first season we will get two more operators named Klaus and Gaz However, it is not yet known exactly when they will appear. You can also purchase the three football stars Neymar Jr, Pogba and Messi in the ingame shop for real money:

  • Pogba – Friday, November 25.11.2022
