On January 13, 2027, Prime Video will launch “Fallout Shelter: The Experiment,” a reality experiment set in the Fallout universe: The winner—who faces brutal competitions and moral dilemmas inside Vault-Tec bunkers—will take home $1 million.
Prime Video’s reality competition series Fallout Shelter: The Experiment premieres on January 13, 2027.
According to the announcement from Prime Video on Fallout Day, October 23, the first four episodes will be released on the premiere date, with the remaining episodes following weekly. The series will be available in more than 240 countries and territories.
Contestants must survive the Vault
In the reality series, ordinary contestants put their survival skills to the test in Vault-Tec’s bomb-proof shelters, facing head-to-head competitions, psychological dilemmas, and morally challenging trials. The one resident who emerges as the winner will receive $1 million.
“The world is ending,” a short trailer states. “The competition is just beginning.” This is followed by a cut to “Fallout Shelter: The Experiment.”
The series is produced by Studio Lambert—the company behind *The Traitors*, *The Circle*, and *Squid Game: The Challenge*—in co-production with Kilter Films, the production company of the creators of the *Fallout* TV series, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy.
Bethesda Game Studios is involved as a partner, with Todd Howard and James Altman serving as executive producers.
The second season of Amazon’s live-action adaptation of *Fallout* may have divided opinions, but that didn’t stop it from racking up another slate of nominations at this year’s prestigious Emmy Awards. In total, the second season of *Fallout* was nominated in nine categories, though it didn’t take home any awards that evening.
