505 Games and ArtPlay unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement at the Tokyo Game Show.
The gothic action RPG is a prequel to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and is set to release in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. According to the developers, you’ll explore a pivotal chapter in the Bloodstained saga created by Koji Igarashi.

“The newly released gameplay footage showcases a wealth of never-before-seen content,” the announcement states. “Fans will get their most comprehensive look yet at the adventure that awaits them. The trailer introduces new characters, diverse environments, and terrifying enemies. On top of that, you’ll get a first look at various new gameplay mechanics.“
The Scarlet Engagement transports you to 16th-century England, rendered in a 2.5D Gothic style. There, you’ll encounter ”fast-paced combat, in-depth exploration, and the quintessential Gothic atmosphere that makes the series so special.”
Floating Castle and New Heroes: The Battle Against the Villain Elias
Suddenly, a mysterious floating castle appears there, casting a dark shadow over the world. It is controlled by a sinister figure named “Elias,” who from then on terrorizes the population with his demonic forces.
The two new heroes, Leonard and Alex, stand up to him. They make it their mission to end Elias’s reign of terror and break the chains of a kingdom tormented by cruel forces.
