With “Dracomundus Purgatory,” the hack-and-slash game gains challenging content, cross-play, and a physical edition for retail stores.

According to Nacon, “Dracomundus Purgatory,” a free and extensive update for the hack-and-slash game Dragonkin: The Banished, is now available.

In addition, the company reports that the title is no longer available only digitally but is now also available in retail stores.

The New Endgame Challenge and Voracious Weapons

Dracomundus Purgatory is an additional challenge accessible via a portal at the end of an endgame hunt, designed to test your strength and speed. You must fight your way across three islands (selected from a pool of over fifty variants) and defeat all enemies before time runs out. If you destroy altars scattered along the way, you can earn bonus seconds toward your time limit. If you survive to the final island, you’ll face the Champion of Purgatory in a boss battle—and might walk away with a Voracious weapon.

Voracious weapons are a new equipment category being introduced with this update. These items come with passive bonuses that can fundamentally change your playstyle. By sacrificing other weapons, you can transfer their power and level up the Voracious weapon. At the same time, you can precisely select the affixes to be applied during the enhancement process. This creates a unique piece of gear that’s perfectly tailored to your playstyle.

Cross-Play and Flexibility in Online Modes

Furthermore, the Dragonkin: The Banished update is designed to make the game even more accessible and community-oriented—on the one hand, through full cross-play with simplified loot distribution and shared progress. On the other hand, you can now switch your online city to offline mode at any time and vice versa.
