Nintendo President Furukawa admits: The Switch 2 price increase doesn’t fully offset the rising costs – games are expected to bridge the gap.
Last week brought yet another price hike: The Nintendo Switch 2 will become more expensive starting this coming September.
And apparently, we have to be cynically grateful that it’s “only” 30 euros more here—because according to Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa, the announced price increase isn’t enough to fully cover the increased costs.
The Cost Drivers of Switch 2

After all, the Nintendo boss remains optimistic in this context; after all, gaming successes like Pokémon Pokopia have shown that attractive software is the key driver behind console sales.
