Borderlands 4: Several familiar faces make a surprise appearance in the trailer for the first expansion

The first major expansion for Borderlands 4 is set to release on March 26, 2026. Gearbox announced this in the trailer for Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned. The story pack includes a new area with its own main story and side quests, the new exterminator Cash, new enemies, legendary weapons, and gear, as well as a reunion with old friends: In the trailer, we spot Mancubus, the ominous tavern owner from the Hammerlock DLC in Borderlands 3. We also catch a glimpse of Carl, the grumpy Eridium dealer, and Pickle, a thief from Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

Along with the trailer, there is now also a detailed list of the DLC content: In addition to the area, quests, and Vault Hunters, there are:
– Two new major boss fights and 16 mini-bosses
– 18 legendary weapons, mods, and gear items, as well as three weapons of the Mother-of-Pearl rarity
– 28 cosmetic items
We should be learning more about the new Exterminator Cash soon: A week before the DLC’s release, there will be a gameplay video, which you’ll of course be able to find here as well.
