A Reddit user has built a motherboard with a whopping 32 USB ports.
The sheer number of USB hubs available online indicates that many manufacturers are apparently not integrating enough ports into their motherboards and laptops for many users. One Reddit user has now built his own solution for this problem.
Motherboard with 32 USB ports
USB stands for “Universal Serial Bus” for a reason. The interface is intended as a standard interface for connecting devices and transferring data, and it fulfills this task perfectly. From mice, keyboards, and headsets to smartphones and laptops, numerous devices rely entirely on USB.
So, in a sense, you can never have enough USB ports. That’s probably what Reddit user “Zestyclose-Salad-290” thought, which is why he built his own motherboards equipped with up to 32 USB ports.
The ports are arranged in groups of four on top of each other. However, he has also built models with “only” 28 and 24 interfaces. In a post, he shows off his creations with a short video:

In less than 24 hours, the post has garnered nearly 10,000 likes and almost 580 comments. The community is mainly discussing what all the USB ports could be used for.
The motherboards seem to be particularly popular with sim racing and flight simulator fans. Anyone who wants to build their own cockpit apparently needs lots of USB ports to connect all the equipment.
One user also suggests connecting 16 mice and keyboards so that 16 people can play the original Doom on one PC at the same time. Another user starts listing things that could be connected, but even with the help of others, only comes up with about 20. However, the question arises as to whether the motherboards are actually intended for “normal” use or whether they could be used to operate smartphone or bot farms. Unfortunately, the creator himself does not clarify what he is doing with them. If you count all your devices, how many USB ports would you need to connect them all?
