With “The Witcher,” Netflix sparked a global hype in 2019– dark monster hunts, political intrigue, and a taciturn witcher captivated millions. Lead actor Henry Cavill, in particular, quickly became a cult figure in the series as Geralt of Rivia. But with his departure after season 3, the foundation began to shake.

The fan base reacted sensitively to the recasting. The new Geralt actor, Liam Hemsworth, was quickly confronted with ridicule and doubts. Nevertheless, Netflix is staying the course and is in the middle of filming seasons 4 and 5, which are now being produced virtually in parallel. Recently, images have been leaked that not only show the new cast, but also provide food for discussion behind the scenes.

The spin-offs of the brand, such as “Blood Origin” , have also recently met with rather disappointed reactions. Nevertheless, Netflix does not seem to be giving up – because what is now leaking from the set suggests that they are throwing everything into the mix again.

The Witcher without Henry Cavill: Secret images reveal four new Geralts

The spectacular photos were taken during the current filming in Great Britainand are currently causing quite a stir. They show Four different versions of Geralt in full costume – but only at first glance. In fact, three of the characters are stunt doubles, including well-known action pros such as Joel Adrian and Neil Bishop, who are assisting Liam Hemsworth with elaborate fight scenes.

The fact that Netflix is providing so many stunt doubles suggests that there will be some spectacular action sequences – perhaps an attempt to recapture the magic of the first seasons. The renowned industry portal Redanian Intelligence also reports that filming for the final fifth season is already in full swing. One thing is certain: following Cavill’s departure and the break with many fans, the series is now apparently aiming to win back what was once lost with spectacular images.

One thing is clear: the upcoming seasons of The Witcher will be under more scrutiny than ever. Liam Hemsworth’s baptism of fire as a witcher is drawing nearer – accompanied by plenty of swords, dust, and shadows.
