There is growing evidence that The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion will be getting a remake in a few days. Now industry insider Jeff Grubb is also speaking out.

The numerous leaks surrounding the alleged remake of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion now give the impression that it is the worst kept secret in the gaming industry. For us, this is certainly a reason to be happy.

Now the well-known industry insider Jeff Grubb has spoken out and claims that you can expect a Shadowdrop at any moment.

Publication still in April

In January of this year, we published a comprehensive article in which we categorized alleged information about the Oblivion remake. Even then, it was claimed that the improved version was within reach. Just how close was recently discussed by Giant Bomb host Jeff Grubb.

In the last Game Mess Morning Stream, he claims that he was told that the Oblivion remake would be released sometime in April. He also specified that it could happen at any moment and that it would be very soon.

How serious is the statement?Jeff Grubb is considered to have an excellent network and has already made several correct predictions. So his claim is to be taken very seriously, albeit with caution. After all, the release strategy can change at any time internally, especially at Shadowdrops.

Further indications of an imminent release

Steam page has been updated: As reported by PCGamesN, trailers were removed from the Steam page of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition a few days ago. Such changes often happen to old titles when something is being worked on in the background that is directly related to the game.

There have been Shadowdrops in the past: In January 2025, the ambitious rhythm game Hi-Fi Rush was released as a Shadowdrop – also in collaboration with Microsoft and Bethesda. Despite outstanding reviews, the game is considered a flop, but with a strong brand like The Elder Scrolls, they could try again.

Since the Oblivion remake has not yet been announced, there is no official information. However, it is assumed that the entire role-playing game was recreated in the Unreal Engine 5. In addition, the stamina system is said to be less frustrating and the interface has been revised. In any case, it remains exciting.
