Realms of MadnessThis solo developer may not have top graphics, but it still looks very promising The strategy game delivers large-scale battles in a fantasy medieval world.

Don’t be fooled by the 2D look. Firstly, the trailer still shows some nice effects such as the reflective water, and secondly, the game combines quiet construction phases of your castle and its production facilities with wild battle scenes like in the best Stronghold times

similar principle: Sons of Valhalla is accessible Viking strategy

Realms of Madness doesn’t just have land units to offer: you can also command flying creatures (including dragons) and fight back the attacks of AI or human enemies with ships. A co-op mode is also planned.

Indie developer Robin van der Horst is working on Realms of Madness all by himself, planned for release on Steam in 2025
