Not only was X initially rebuffed in the App Stores, but also with the San Francisco City Council.

(Twitter becomes X), we all caught that. Already a week ago Elon Musk had the Twitter logo removed from the company building – and even came into conflict with the police.

After going back and forth with the logo, Elon Musk is now putting his foot in his next mouth with his renamed social media network.

New logo doesn’t match the cityscape

It doesn’t take a week and there’s already a big X emblazoned on the roof of Twitter’s former headquarters in downtown San Francisco, which Elon Musk himself announced with a short teaser.

This is unfortunately a problem for San Francisco city government, reports (AP News).

All symbols, letters and logos require approvalto be compliant with the historic character of the building, said Patrick Hannan, spokesman for the city’s Building Inspection Division.

Planning review and approval is also required for the installation of this sign. The city is initiating a study to that effect, Hannan added.

Musk’s mistake: The previous Twitter sign was on the side of the building, the new X is emblazoned on the roof.

X was too short

The new logo on the roof of the company’s headquarters was preceded by another faux pas. The Apple App Store initially refused to recognise  X as an app name because it was too short (via Bleeping Computer).

Meanwhile, the app is now X on Apple’s App Store, but not on Google.

Although Apple TV has the new name, it still has the old bird:

In addition to the Twitter/X hiccup, Musk is also planning to spend a billion dollars on a supercomputer!

Twitter’s controversial name change is the centre of the tech issue world, it seems. New stumbles and absurdities keep popping up. Do you follow the goings-on around Elon Musk and X?
