Even though Xbox CEO Phil Spencer recently admitted in an interview that he lost the console war of the last generation, Playstation is still trying to assert its dominance in the gaming market. According to the latest rumors, Sony has signed an exclusive deal with Japanese publisher Konami for Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and Castlevania.

Sony and Konami have a long history with each other. For Silent Hill 2 it was already decided to release the horror sequel exclusively for Playstation 5 . Both industry insider Shpeshal Nic and Jez Corden are said to have information that Sony and Konami are looking to intensify and expand their profitable relationship with each other around several Konami IPs.

Accordingly, in addition to the already confirmed Silent Hill, new Metal Gear and Castlevania games are to be released exclusively for the Playstation. All three titles are firmly associated with Konami’s brand name and prestige, and would represent an incredible addition to Playstation’s exclusive portfolio. So far, these rumors have not been officially confirmed. It could be years before the time comes and the new titles are announced. However, we might learn something new at a future Playstation showcase. A pleasant news of a Konami revival with brands so loved and missed by fans would be this partnership, though.
