Known CoD leaker TheGhostOfHope is sure he has discovered the next Warzone 2.0 map in Modern Warfare II.

After a bumpy start to the Early Access campaign at times, insider TheGhostOfHope is sure he has discovered the next Battle Royale map for Warzone 2.0.

Will Las Almas be the new BR map?

Although a new BR map is rumoured not to be released until 2024, the leaker on Twitter is convinced that the Las Almas campaign location from Modern Warfare II will soon be playable in Warzone 2.0.

A significant portion of MWII’s campaign is set in Las Almas, taking us through the fictional Mexican town’s intricately detailed alleyways, houses and plazas.

Watch out for campaign spoilers! During the campaign, we fight, among other things, against a Mexican drug cartel that has its headquarters in Las Almas and controls most of the city. With the help of Colonel Alejandro Vargas, the newest member of Task Force 141 and a local patriot of Las Almas, we fight the cartel, which also does business with the terrorist organisation and our arch-enemy Al-Qatala.

Map already in Modern Warfare II

Parts of Las Almas were already exported to multiplayer during the beta phase of Modern Warfare II under the name “Las Almas Mercado”. Porting the entire city area into Warzone 2.0 would thus only be a small step. The new BR map could have a size comparable to Rebirth Island and shorten the community’s wait for the new big BR map, which is not planned until 2024.

Although leaker TheGhostOfHope has often been right with his claims in the past, it is by no means certain that Las Almas will appear as a standalone map in Warzone 2.0.

However, if we look at the level of detail and sheer size of Las Almas, it would make perfect sense to export the Mexican city as a BR map. The many narrow streets and two-storey buildings are just beckoning for us to explore in Warzone 2.0.
