The third season in Warzone has begun. Besides the new map Verdansk ’84, a new fast travel system might be introduced soon.

After the second season in CoD Warzone was literally blown up, the popular Battle Royale game has now started its third round. As a result, the old Verdansk map has been removed from the game and replaced with a modified retro version called Verdansk ’84.

In order to get from point A to point B quickly with the sheer number of locations, a brand new fast travel system could now also be introduced, as you already know from the old Verdansk map. This is indicated by a survey sent out to players by the developers.

Red doors as fast travel portal

In this case, the information about the new fast travel system even comes from first-hand sources. In a survey, the developers wanted to know from the players, among other things, how they found the new features on the Verdansk-84 map. But there was one point in the survey that hasn’t even made it onto the map yet.

In one of the items to be evaluated, the participants were asked about “The Red Doors (new fast travel system)”, as it emerged from several sources. Charlie INTEL, one of the best known news sources for CoD, also shared this on Twitter.

The problem with the whole thing: So far, the red doors have not even made it into the game. Whether this is an error in the survey is unclear, but seems plausible. Apparently “The Red Doors” are or were planned for Warzone. Also a special cutscene for Verdansk ’84 points to such an idea:

This is the role of the doors in CoD Cold War

Where do the Red Doors come from? Especially players of the Cold War campaign should be familiar with “The Red Doors”. During the course of the game, you will be confronted with them again and again, until the mystery surrounding the mysterious doors is revealed towards the end. If you haven’t played the campaign of CoD Cold War yet, you should only read on at your own risk – slight spoilers follow:

You will be confronted with the doors especially in the mission “Break On Through”. In it, you find yourself in your own mind reliving memories from the Vietnam War. During the mission, Adler asks the protagonist to go through a big red door. Behind this door there is supposed to be important information about the villain Perseus.

In the following sequences, the doors serve as a kind of link between the main character Bell’s memories. During the mission, it’s up to you whether you comply with Adler’s demands or avoid the red door. If you resist long enough, you’ll even unlock a special trophy.

Fast travel already existed in Warzone

Can we expect the new fast travel system? That’s unclear so far, because we don’t know if the red doors will still make it into the game or if they were perhaps cancelled in an earlier phase. However, since there was already a fast travel system via Metro on the old Verdanks map, at least the idea of a fast travel system for the new map is not far-fetched.

If a new fast travel system is really coming, it will probably be announced by the developers in an official post. This was also the case with the Metro system, where even a clear map was included.
