As reported by Polish gaming site GRYOnline, work on the survival action game Stalker 2 has resumed. Due to the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, the developers of (GSC Game World) were previously forced to abandon their location in Kiev and pause development.

During a Discord Q&A session, however, a community manager now answered a chat question and confirmed that development of the first-person shooter has resumed. Originally, the Ukrainian studio wanted to continue development only “after the victory of the Ukrainian armed forces”, but it now seems that development will continue earlier. This most likely also has to do with the shift of the war front towards the eastern regions around the Donbas and the return of many people to the capital Kiev and parts of western and central Ukraine.

When exactly an official statement will be released about how much the release of the game might be delayed and whether the developers will continue their work on Stalker 2 back in Kiev or Prague is not clear at the moment. But we might get more details on that soon. However, it is a pleasant fact and a glimmer of hope.
