You can currently get the dark roguelike RPG Iratus: Lord of the Dead for free. We explain what you need to know and for whom it’s worth it.

The game is free.

The new year starts like the old one ended – with exciting free games! For example, GOG is currently giving you the roguelike role-playing game Iratus: Lord of the Dead if you’re quick enough. Especially fans of Darkest Dungeon should get their hands on it now!

All info on the free game at GOG

When is Iratus free? The offer is valid until 5 January 2022 at 3pm. That is until the end of the current winter sale at GOG. If you add the game to your collection until then, you can keep it forever – of course you need an account at GOG to get the gift.

What kind of game is it? If you know Darkest Dungeon, the principle of Iratus should look familiar. You fight your way as a necromancer through dungeons to the surface, create an army of walking undead and compete with your servants as a group in tactical turn-based battles. Looks like this:

What exactly do I get for free? At GOG you can get the standard version of Iratus for free, which doesn’t contain any DLCs. But as always, the game is DRM-free. And if you’re really hooked, you can buy the expansions separately. (Wrath of the Necromancer) brings you, for example, two new minions, new enemies and a new possible ending.

The big Steam Winter Sale also runs until 5 January 2022.
