The Steam Awards will be presented soon. In a variety of sometimes funny categories you can now cast your vote.

Whoever thought the 2021 award season had come to an end after the Game Awards at the beginning of December is mistaken – at least partially. The Steam Awards will not be presented until January 2022, but of course everything here revolves around games that were released in 2021 or even earlier.

Your vote is needed again: because on Steam you can vote in each of the 10 categories. In contrast to other awards ceremonies, the focus here is not on genre, but on content: Story, gameplay or the level of difficulty.

All info on the Steam Awards 2021

When are the Steam Awards? The winners will be announced on the awards website on 3 January 2022 at 7pm. There will be no awards ceremony in the traditional sense.

Where and how can I vote? Voting is easy and only takes a few minutes (unless you are undecided). First, make sure you’re logged into Steam. Then, scroll through the categories and click on the game you want to vote for.

How many and which categories are there? Valve has come up with a total of 10 categories, which are primarily based on the content of the games, not simple genre divisions. The categories are:

  • Game of the Year
  • VR Game of the Year
  • Work of Love
  • Better with Friends
  • Excellent visual style
  • Most innovative gameplay
  • Best game you suck at
  • Best soundtrack
  • Excellent game with deep story
  • Lean back and relax
