The supposed follow bots on Twitch are an extreme security breach. According to reports, the bots can retrieve IP addresses.

Twitch has yet another problem with hoss bots accounts that pose a massive security vulnerability for the streaming platform. While the bots are follow bots, they can reportedly read users’ IP addresses.

The accounts have a “hoss” in their name, followed with a random sequence of numbers and letters. These are displayed as followers to the streamers. As soon as users look at the profiles of the bots, they should be able to intercept the IP address.

Until the problem is solved, user bans and chat bans will ensure that the bots cannot continue to operate. Users are called upon not to click on the suspicious accounts.
