Fortnite comes on the new console generations. There the Battle Royale from Epic Games will also get an engine upgrade next year.
With the slowly emerging information about the new console generations, game studios must also prepare for the jump. With the higher computing power, Fortnite is to be ported to Unreal Engine 5 from the middle of next year.

Porting the scores?
According to the blog post of the developers it should be possible to continue playing with the old account on the new generation. So all skins and progress on the Playstation 5 and XBox Series X will be preserved.
Furthermore it should be possible to play with players of the old console generation. Whether this will be possible after the update to the new engine is not yet clear.
