The lawsuit against Activision Blizzard continues to grow. Now the company is accused of destroying key evidence.

The lawsuit against Activision Blizzard for discrimination is still in full swing, now the state of California has expanded it to include temporary workers. The company is accused of hiring contract workers in order to offer low wages for long hours.

Activision Blizzard is also accused of not cooperating with investigators. This is said to be evidenced by, among other things, the engagement of the law firm WilmerHale, which is said to be anti-union and to drive a hard bargain regarding NDA agreements.

In addition, the company is accused of actively inducing human resources (HR) employees to destroy documents that could be helpful to the investigation.

Activision Blizzard is keeping a low profile

In a statement to the website Kotaku, a spokesperson for Activsion Blizzard commented on the expansion of the lawsuit, but kept a rather low profile. Certain changes will be made to make the workplace safe for every employee. Among other things, high-level staff changes, more transparency in pay equity and overarching training for HR staff will help.

The spokesperson also made a statement on the topic of diversity in the company:

‘We strive to be a company that recognises and celebrates the diverse talents and perspectives that contribute to the creation of our great and globally respected entertainment’.

He said that clear evidence had been presented that there was no gender gap in salary or promotion for employees in the company. There is also a growing diversity in leadership and an increase in the number of female professionals in key positions, said the spokesperson.
