In GTA Online, the dreaded Oppressor Mk 2 could soon be generated. At least that’s what a balancing promise from Rocksar Games itself gives us hope for.

The Oppressor Mk 2 is one of the most powerful and annoying tools of trolls and griefers in GTA Online. In the foreseeable future, the flying rocket motorbike could finally get a nerf. At least that’s what a line in the latest blog post suggests. We tell you what it’s all about.

By the way, we have summarised all the information about the NextGen version of GTA 5 and GTA Online, which was released on 15 March 2022 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, for you in the following overview:

GTA 5 and Online get better: All info on the NextGen upgrade

A Griefer’s and Troll’s Dream

Why the Oppressor Mk 2 is so feared: the flying motorbike equipped with homing missiles is currently one of the most powerful in GTA Online. If you’re wondering why, it’s a flying motorbike that fires homing missiles. Accordingly, the Oppressor Mk 2 is popular with griefers and trolls, who often cause chaos and frustration in public lobbies.

Players on foot or in non-armoured vehicles often have little to counter the flying ticks. Only skilled pilots or experienced players who know how to help themselves with explosive ammunition or other tricks make short work of oppressor pilots. Beginners and low-level players often have to switch to a new session.

To be fair, it must be mentioned at this point that the Oppressor Mk 2 is quite an expensive affair: the flying motorbike costs three to four million GTA dollars. Then there is the additional cost of up to two million GTA dollars for the terror byte, including the workshop, with which the Oppressor can be upgraded.

An Oppressor Mk 2 in GTA Online is good, an Oppressor Mk 2 with decoys and homing missiles is better. But it costs and requires a terror byte including a workshop.

Oppressor-Nerf (hopefully) on the way

Why Rockstar is hoping for a nerf: The last blog post in the (Rockstar Newswire) was mainly about the NextGen version of GTA 5 and Online, which is not relevant for PC players for now. Nevertheless, Rockstar promises that the multiplayer mode will be expanded and improved on all platforms in the future.

A concrete statement now lets us hope that Oppressor Mk 2 will be tackled again. The blog post says: “In the future, we plan to make further adjustments to all versions of the game, in addition to balancing adjustments to other areas – such as vehicles that are often used in PvP battles.

This actually leaves little doubt that the Oppressor Mk 2 is one of them. After all, this is a vehicle and aircraft that has been the subject of heated discussion in the community for years. Nerfs or other restrictions for the flying tick are regularly demanded (for example via (Reddit)) – sometimes even the complete removal from the game via (Petition)

Expensive Oppressor-Counter: However, this car upgrade also requires the appropriate small change, which is not necessarily available to beginners in GTA Online: An agency including workshop requires an investment of at least three million GTA dollars, the guided missile jammer costs an additional 400,000 GTA dollars per car. And then you first have to own a car that is compatible with Imani-Tech …

So a nerf of the Oppressor Mk 2 should be very popular in the GTA Online community. And of course it remains to be seen how extensive a potential balancing update for the flying rocket motorbike will be. We’ll keep you up to date.
