A new clip from the remake offers deeper insights into the dream sequence. It becomes clear that Nintendo is making adjustments compared to the N64 original.
Nintendo has released a short clip that offers a closer look at Ganondorf in the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Users of the Nintendo Today app on smartphones were able to enjoy the footage, which has since made its way online.
The video is just 16 seconds long, but it does provide a more detailed look at what the villain looks like in the remake.
Focus on the Gerudo King: What the New Clip Reveals About Ganondorf
“A man from the Gerudo tribe—a tribe where, according to legend, a man is born only once every hundred years,” reads the accompanying text from Nintendo. “He harbors the grand ambition of seizing the Triforce—a sacred relic said to grant any wish to whoever touches it.”
The video features an extended version of the already familiar dream sequence. In it, Ganondorf rides up on a horse while a voice is heard in the background: “And now… evil appears, hungry for this power.”

Small Details, Big Impact: Nintendo Adjusts Iconic Dream Sequence
It’s interesting that Nintendo has made changes to this scene compared to the original—not to the content, but to the pacing. In the Switch 2 version, the scene plays out in slow motion, while Ganondorf moves at normal speed on the Nintendo 64 and in the 3DS remake.
A small change in detail, but one that noticeably alters the impact of the scene. This also shows that Nintendo isn’t simply putting together a 1:1 remake with prettier graphics.
The release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is scheduled for November 5, 2026.
