The bad news: Due to a plane crash, you only have 60 seconds to live. The good news: Your last minute is going to be a wild ride!

To describe the idea behind Freefall ’95 as weird would be an understatement. Before we describe the gameplay in more detail, here is the complex lore of the game:

You are a passenger on an airplane. The plane crashes. In free fall, you dodge debris and perform cool stunts to earn points. Then you die and the game starts over.

Okay, it’s not quite that simple. Before the plane crashes, you have a few minutes to talk to the other passengers and figure out what the hell is going on.

Take a look:

The quirky idea is well received

Needless to say, it didn’t take long for the absurdly funny game idea to get an exclusive deal on Reddit and celebrated by many users:

  • How on earth did you come up with this idea!? Brilliant!
  • This looks fantastic!
  • I’m afraid of flying and I love ragdoll effects. This is definitely for me.
  • This is the kind of game I didn’t know I wanted to play until now.

Curious? Just give it a try!

If you’re now thinking, “Wow, that sounds so fun, I’d love to try Freefall ’95!”, you can do just that for free – thanks to the Steam demo!

The full version is currently scheduled for release in March 2026.

Well, now. How do you round off an article like this? Um… do you like flying? Oh, that’s a nice closing question: Do you feel comfortable in airplanes, or do you start to panic as soon as you see the runway?

In our profession, it’s inevitable that we’ll be traveling around the world quite a bit. Nevertheless, we know that some of our editorial staff enjoy flying about as much as having their wisdom teeth removed! How about you? Feel free to write your thoughts in the comments!
