Read this right: Company of Heroes 3 can be tried out for free even before its release. You just need to follow a few steps

It’s actually no joke: Company of Heroes 3 has not only been officially announced, it can also be tried out now. Of course, this raises the question of whether the demo is worth your time – and we have the perfect answer to that: colleague Fabiano has played more than 15 hours of CoH 3, talked to the developers and pretty much sums up everything you need to know in our big title story on Company of Heroes 3. So feel free to read it before we continue here. We’ll wait until then.

Okay, read it? Well, we trust you blindly – and in return you can now find out how you can try out the demo for Company of Heroes 3 for free.

Play CoH 3 right now: Here’s how

To play the pre-alpha, all you have to do is sign up for the community test programme and link your Steam account. Let’s break it down step by step:

Visit the official Company of Heroes 3 page and click on “Play Now”
Follow the instructions and create a Relic account.
A confirmation email should now land in your linked email inbox.
Again, follow the instructions and complete your registration.
Log in and link your Steam account to your Relic account by clicking “Pre-Alpha Review” on the Rewards page.
The pre-alpha should then automatically appear in your Steam library.
Suck up the pre-alpha and off you go.

What kind of computer do I need?

The system requirements are comparatively harmless. Anyone with a Geforce 1070 and solid mid-range hardware should actually be able to play well. Here are the more concrete data from the developers:

Minimum system requirements
Intel i5 processor (8th Gen)
Nvidia Geforce 1060 or equivalent, 4GB VRAM
8GB RAM
Recommended system requirements
Intel i7 Processor (8th Gen)
Nvidia Geforce 1070 or equivalent, 8GB VRAM
16 GB RAM
