A ton of games were showcased during and around Summer Game Fest. We’re taking a look at which ones generated the most interest on Steam.

Before, during, and after the Summer Game Fest on June 5, tons of new games were announced, and previously revealed titles were brought into the spotlight of one of the most important gaming weeks of the entire year with new trailers.

No one can really lose here! Still, it’s always interesting to see which games managed to win over the most new fans with their trailers. Of course, there’s no reliable way to track that. But at least the Steam stats give us a little insight into where interest might have grown.

We took a look at which games shown at the events have gained the most new followers on Steam over the last 7 days!

Here are the Steam winners

As mentioned, we’re focusing here on follower growth on Steam! Of course, this only applies to games that are listed on Steam. This means many major titles from Sony’s State of Play, such as God of War, Laufey, and Wolverine, are missing. Just to put things in context. Let’s get to the ranking:

1. Guild Wars 3 (+46,000)

Guild Wars 3was unveiled at Summer Game Fest. The sequel to the popular MMO series surprised many people and quickly became extremely popular on Steam. Guild Wars 3 is set to retain many of its predecessors’ strengths while also venturing into new territory. As a result, combat will be more action-packed and movement through the world will be faster.

2. Resident Evil Veronica (+38,000)

Of course, a new Resident Evil immediately draws massive attention. It was one of the biggest highlights of the Summer Game Fest. It will once again be a remake of an older installment, this time a spin-off originally titled Code Veronica. Playing as Claire Redfield, we search for our brother but are kidnapped and end up on a sinister island.

3. 1666: Amsterdam (+21,000)

Third place goes to1666: Amsterdam, which is definitely one of the biggest surprises. Unlike the top two games, this one isn’t based on any well-known predecessor. However, it has a long history and was first developed back in 2011. Now, the project from the creator of Assassin’s Creed has been revived. There’s also a demo available on Steam.

4. Stronghold 4 (+12,000)

Stronghold 4 secured fourth place! Although the series has been struggling for years, castle-building fans clearly haven’t given up hope. The new installment is heavily inspired by the extremely successful first game and almost feels like a remake.

5. Lords of the Fallen 2 (+10,000)

We’ve known for a long time that Lords of the Fallen 2 is coming. But it wasn’t clear on which platforms the RPG would be released. Now, during the Summer Game Fest, it was revealed where you’ll be able to play the game once it’s finally released. There’s still no release date.

6. Alien Isolation 2 (+9,000)

Alien: Isolation 2 had also been announced previously, but there hadn’t been much to see of it yet. Now, however, Creative Assembly has finally revealed a bit more, immediately winning over plenty of horror fans who can’t wait to hide in panic from the Alien.

7. Persona 4 Revival (+8,700)

Although the next main installment of the highly acclaimed JRPG series, Persona 6, was announced at the Xbox Showcase, the Persona 4 remake managed to gain more followers. However, this is also because Persona 6 does not yet have a product page on Steam. Persona 4 Revival, on the other hand, has been given a release date: It launches on February 18, 2027.

8. Crossfire (+8,500)

In South Korea, Crossfire has long been a phenomenon, but it never managed to gain a foothold in the West. Will this next attempt change that? The new game is a single-player third-person shooter. The graphically impressive, dark gameplay trailer has at least managed to captivate more people than Crossfire has so far.

10. Gundam Rogue Orbit (+8,000)

There are far more fans of combat robots out there than you might think. So it’s actually no surprise that the new Gundam Rogue Orbit has once again sparked a lot of excitement among many people. The action-packed announcement trailer was also quite impressive.

What about wishlists?

By the way, game wishlist entries on Steam aren’t made public, so we have to make do with the follower counts here. While these also give a good idea of which games are currently popular, they don’t cover the entire range of interesting titles.

For example, we know that Resident Evil Veronica has at least 522,000 wishlist entries on Steam! This makes Resident Evil even more successful in this category than Guild Wars 3, which is ahead in terms of followers.
