The Steam operators have developed a new fighting game – but it’s hidden in one of the platform’s most popular games
InDota 2the Crownfall event is currently underway and the third act has a surprise in store for players. Since July 9, a fighting game called Sleet Fighter 2: Immortal Combat
can be found there.
A game within a game
How does Sleet Fighter play? It’s a classic2D fighting game There are five heroes from Dota 2 to choose from, namely Marci, Bristleback, Tusk, Vengeful Spirit and Dawnbreaker.
Each character has their own move set There is a single-player mode, but you can also compete against other players online and even locally. There is also a leaderboard and rewards for particularly successful fighters
Although it is more of a mini-game, the community takes Fleet Fighter as seriously as a fully developed fighting game. You can call up the list of moves by pressing the F9 key.
On Reddit, there aretier listsof the characters anddiscussionsabout the move sets, game mechanics and even the important frame data for the genre.

How can you play Sleet Fighter? You have to download the free Dota 2 via Steam. There is no other option.
On the start screen you will find the page for the Crownfall event and can enter the third act. Fleet Fighter is already at the first fork of the story mode for the event
Does the game disappear at some point?
Valve has extended the eventuntil October 162024. So far, Sleet Fighter has been well received by the community and is perceived as a positive surprise.
The game may disappear with the end of Crownfall, whether it will be further developed by Valve or integrated into Dota is currently unclear.
According to Valve, the event will be much bigger than planned – hence the extension. Further content is still being planned, such as the fourth and final act.
