Steam is the place to go for PC games for many gamers. But which games have the best rating there?

The impact that ratings can have on the success of a game is shown by the releases of Battlefield 2042 or eFootball PES. But of course there are also absolute high-flyers – at least for the fans.

We take a look at the ten best-rated games on the games platform Steam. And there are some surprises there too.

Place 10: Euro Truck Simulator 2

(Rating 96.75% – 19,99 Euro on (Steam)

No genre is associated with Steam in such an iconic way as simulators of some kind. And with Truck Simulator, even one of the biggest YouTube hits has made it into the top 10. Yet the gameplay is completely explained in the name – and that didn’t bother 496,484 reviewers at all.

Place 9: Half Life Alyx

(Rating 96.85% 49.99 Euro on (Steam) (Attention, VR Headset required)

Is Virtual Reality the future of gaming? For many, Half Live Alyx was the first VR game to be released that gave some hope. Once again, you are the only hope of mankind in the game. The spectacle delighted 65,382 users with positive feedback.

Place 8: RimWorld

(rating 96.88% 29.99 Euro on (Steam)

What would a colony look like in a sci-fi world? RimWorld tells that perhaps better than any other game. The testers appreciate that too: 120,952 people voted positively.

Place 7: Portal

( Rating 96.91% 8.19 Euro on (Steam)

When the game based around the Portal Gun hit the market, many were blown away. That’s how new and wild the gameplay, which ended up being quite simple, was staged. But whether the cake is a lie is perhaps not known by all 99,307 people who have given the game a positive review since 2007.

Place 6: Stardew Valley

(Rating 97.09% – €13.99 on (Steam)

Even on Twitch, Stardew Valley has excited many streamers. This has certainly contributed to the hype around the self-sufficient life in the game. 422,634 people had at least some fun surviving.

Place 5: Terraria

(Rating 97.17% – €9.99 at (Steam)

Minimalistic graphics in an action adventure game are no longer a rarity – but Terraria has its own special charm. In 2D and with wild rides through the colourful world, masses of fans were picked up: 878,298 positive reviews.

Place 4: People Playground

(Rating 97.27% – 8.19 Euro at (Steam)

Do heaps of stupid things with crash test dummies? Every 15-year-old’s dream comes true with PP. In the end, it’s just an open space that tempts you to do masses of deadly stupid things – and Steam users like it: 84,420 thumbs up result in a rating of 97.21 percent.

Place 3: Hades

(Rating 97.40% – 20,99 Euro on (Steam)

Off into the dungeon it goes with Hades. The game was celebrated by critics like Polygon or IGN and also has many fans on Steam. The hack’n’slay game has 174,018 positive reviews.

Place 2: Factorio

(rating 97.41% – 25 euros on (Steam)

Factoria is a nice example of how the Steam platform can also help with game development. The economic simulation was in Early Access for four years before it was finally released in 2020. And basically, it’s about building a factory from nothing. 134,337 positive reviews result in a rating of 97.41 percent.

Place 1: Portal 2

(Rating 97.68% – 8.19 Euro on (Steam)

Valve’s cult game has many fans and the story behind the puzzle game fascinated many over the years – this of course also applies to the sequel. On Steam, there were a whopping 276,635 positive reviews for it.
