Howl at the moon, form packs and explore the secrets of Moonwood Mill – the new addon lets you explore your animalistic side as a werewolf.

Update as of 03/06/2022 09:00 AM: Added more information about Moonwood Mill, the factions living in it as well as the unlockable abilities published in (EA’s Blog).

Like its predecessors, The Sims 4 is an absolute perennial hit and has been continuously and persistently supplied with content by the associated development studio. Now, players will receive the gameplay pack that many have been eagerly awaiting.

The Sims 4: Werewolves marks the return to the game of the popular, furry lifestyle that last found its way into the series in 2006’s Pet DLC for Part Two and 2012’s Supernatural add-on for Sims 3. While fairies and zombies were still on board back then, the wolfish nature of your Sims now takes centre stage completely.

For Electronic Arts, this is a big deal, because since the disappointing last addon, the series is now at a crucial turning point.

What to expect in the Gameplay Pack

Werewolf fans know that the bestial blood does not necessarily have to be transferred by a bite. Whether you always have to meet another werewolf first in the gameplay pack or can simply perform an occult ritual to say goodbye to your human nature is not yet entirely clear. At the very least, though, you should be able to fight back against the animal urges if they happen to be inconvenient for you.

For those who welcome them, however, numerous new possibilities open up, which, as expected, mainly have to do with your Sims’ nightlife. You’ll be able to howl at the moon, join a pack and go on a nocturnal ramble through mysterious Moonwood Mill.

The village is populated by two very different werewolf packs, which you can choose to join:

  • The Moonwood Commune: This pack is all about tradition and self-control. Its members are experienced werewolves who value community.
  • The Wildfangs: A band of free spirits who give free rein to their rebellious nature and enjoy wrestling with other werewolves. Real punks, that’s what they are.

Your attitude of self-control is important because your werewolves are getting angrier and angrier. If you act against your nature or use your powers too freely, you will lose control and turn involuntarily.
In the new area and in interaction with the other werewolves, you will not only explore your animal nature, but also the secrets and legends behind the lycanthropic existence. Whether you then share your findings with a soulmate in the moonlight or prefer to act as a lone wolf is up to you.

When will the addon be released?

The addon will be released on 16 June 2022 for the PC and Mac (on Steam and Origin), as well as Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. To play, of course, the main game and all free updates released so far are required. Gameplay packs are medium-sized add-ons in the Sims DLC world, costing around 20 euros.

Are you looking forward to the return of the Fang Sims, or have you turned your back on this part of the series after the disappointing last add-on and are already squinting at The Sims 5 instead? Feel free to share your experiences and thoughts with us in the comments!
