The preload for Forza Horizon 6 has started, and you’ll need plenty of space on your hard drive

With just over two weeks to go before release, you can already download the upcoming racing game. Buyers of the Premium Edition can even hit the gas sooner.

Forza Horizon 6 is coming soon, and developer Playground Games is letting you download the open-world racing game right now. While the official release isn’t until May 19, 2026, it doesn’t hurt to clear some space on your hard drive—Forza Horizon 6 takes up a lot of room.

Everything you need to know about the Forza Horizon 6 preload

  • Preload start:If you’ve already pre-ordered the new Forza on PC or Xbox or have a Microsoft Game Pass subscription, you can download the game right now.
  • Storage requirements:PC players need to free up146 GBof space, while the Xbox Series X and S require135 GBof hard drive space. Luckily, you have plenty of time to clear some space beforehand.
  • By the way:APS5 versionis also in the works and is scheduled for release in 2026. However, Playground Games hasn’t revealed a specific date yet.

Release and Early Access
