Developer Red Barrels announced at the beginning of the weekend that The Outlast Trials will be released in Early Access in two months. Already at this stage, you should be able to be creeped out both alone and in co-op.

The Outlast Trials is a prequel to the first part. The plot of the horror-survival title takes place during the Cold War. The ruthless Murkoff Corporation has turned you into guinea pigs and subjects you to highly questionable mind control and brainwashing tests. As your endurance is tested, you teeter on the edge of insanity, where reality and imagination become increasingly blurred.

The same gameplay principle applies to The Outlast Trials as to the previous titles: confrontation is not the answer! Instead of going into battle against hostiles, you”ll have to flee and hide.

The Murkoff Corporation will assist you in this endeavour by giving you the opportunity to improve your stealth skills. There will also be ways to escape and slow down your enemies. But since nothing comes for free in this cruel world, you”ll have to earn these useful features.

You can face the gruesome experiments of The Outlast Trials either alone or in co-op with up to three other people. This feature will also be possible from the Early Access release, which starts on 18 May 2023 via (Steam) and (Epic Games Store
